JAG has completed multiple commercial industrial painting projects and numerous residential painting projects.

2008

In the Beginning

Michael Branco starts his journey in business with the inception of JAG Painting Contractors.

2010

First Hired Employee

Mike has to hire his first employee, Danny Abbe, as business has grown.

2016

JAG Incorporated

As JAG has scaled, JAG becomes incorporated.

2019

Vice President

JAG has added Vice President, Matt Girard, to run Sales and Estimating.

2020

Team Growth

JAG adds 3 office staff for project management and employee support as JAG team grows to 15 painters.

2023

15 Year Anniversary

JAG, to date, is employing 25 painters and 4 office staff to handle all customer support and needs.

These folks were excellent. They painted the entire kitchen. Walls, trim, doors, ceiling. Painted 30 cabinet doors and 12 drawer fronts. The walls, trim, doors and ceiling they finished in no time. The cabinet doors – they warned me – would take a while but it would be worth it. They were right. It is a lot of work removing the hardware, filling holes, hand sanding, priming, sanding again, priming again, multiple coats of paint. These guys took their time and I’m glad. Were always professional; respected my house. I’m bringing them back to work on the outside next!!!

Michael was born in New Bedford and went to vocational school there. After graduating, Michael joined the navy and was honorably discharged after serving in the Iraq war.

Michael continues to serve the area, proudly serving on the New Bedford Fire Department for almost 20 years.

After 10 years of working in the painting field he started his small painting company named after his 3 children Jacob, Ayden and Grace – which also allowed for a neat tie back to the Navy (JAG).


Mike, his wife Holly and their children now live in Lakeville, and have recently become proud grandparents to a baby boy.

Matt has in-depth knowledge of coatings and applications including residential painting, commercial painting, industrial painting and Epoxy flooring.

His product knowledge spans the gamut from basic house paint to pro industrial products that require mixing multiple components.

Matt spent a good part of his career on the estimating, sales, and management side of the painting industry.

However, his love of painting came from his early years in the field and learning the trade hands on.

Paul has 8 years experience in the industry ranging from residential, commercial, to industrial coating systems. He has overseen large commercial accounts such as Walmart, Walgreens, Taco Bell, and many other large companies.

Paul has a strong background in customer service and strives to keep his customers happy.

Growing up, he was part of a military family and has lived in multiple states throughout his life. He has now laid his roots down in New Bedford.

Paul is also a graduate of Rutgers University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.
